This weekend, the 4th Annual Paterson Poetry Festival enlivened Hamilton Street in downtown Paterson, New Jersey.
Beginning on Friday, October 1st and carrying on through Monday the 4th, Word Seed Inc. put together a cultural event without equal in the heart of Paterson, New Jersey. Featuring poets from across the great Garden State and beyond, The Paterson Poetry Festival celebrated their fourth year with both seasoned writers and up and comers, boasting a lineup that both entertained and inspired. Soup Can Magazine had the absolute privilege to host a segment on the opening night, featuring poets from past, present, and future issues.
We were blessed to hear the powerful voices of SaraEve Fermin, Ali L, POME, and Talena Lachelle Queen- all poets who have graced our pages- or will appear in issues to come. We also had the opportunity to meet up with the incomparable Mwikali Words and Ameerah Shabazz-Bilal, poets who have also contributed to Soup Can Magazine.
